Sabrina Peacock

I am a teacher in Guilford County Schools. I have been inspiring and educating young children for the past 27 years.  I love teaching and really enjoy increasing my knowledge and abilities. I have a Master’s degree in Reading with a Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher and a mentor for National Board candidates.  I take pride in being able to help others obtain one of the most honorable achievements as a teacher. I also mentor new teachers and others who need assistance.  I was a finalist for Guilford County Schools Teacher of the Year in the 2012-2013 school year and a finalist for Guilford County Schools Mentor of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year. One of my passions is working with beginning teachers to help sustain the wonderful profession of being an educator.

I am a part of this work because I believe it is imperative for people to know the truth about this important event that occurred in Greensboro, NC. It is an event that changed the lives of many and our history. Bringing awareness to this work also brings about understanding, healing, and progress as we move forward. Knowing your history helps to keep you from repeating its mistakes. This work is to help us see that justice for all is vital to true community building. I am proud to be a part of this team of caring people who want our city, community, and world to be a better place for everyone.
